STATEMENT
My work is informed by the world around us, particularly relating to political, industrial and economic factors of social history. My work seeks to tell hidden stories and preserve a piece of them in the present.
I work with a variety of materials and processes which include college, printmaking, analogue photography and altered objects; often using found and gathered materials from my immediate environment to influence the work made. Repetition and multiples feature prominently in my practice.
The deliberate choice of analogue, hands-on modes of production reflects the labour-focused context of my research and is also a deliberate rejection of the “always on” expectations of our contemporary digital world that strives for more authentic communication.
I am co-organiser of Dundee Zine Fest as well as teaching Art and Design at Glasgow Clyde College.
